Harmoni Growth: A new look at Harmoni Market + those killer wine deals

July 28, 2008
Dear Friends and Family,
There is so much happening at Harmoni Market, we could not think of a better way to get you all of the info rmation than with an “open letter to our friends.”  I know your time is valuable, so in exchange for your attention to this email, bring in a copy this week and we’ll exchange it for a FREE GLASS OF WINE!

Before we know it, the kids will be heading back to school, football season will be here and we’ll be thinking about Holiday plans.  The Harmoni Market team has been working hard this summer to prepare for the fall.  I’d like to take this moment to describe some of the many changes happening at our College Park market and tell you about our new store plans.

Before I get into the changes, I’d like to thank those who have approached me with recommendations to improve our restaurant, market and guest service.  We couldn’t do it without YOU!  Feel free to email me any time with your thoughts:  jgabrovic@HarmoniMarket.com

Exciting Growth Plans
You may have heard the exciting news that we will soon add a few more petals to the Harmoni Market sunflower:

1.      Longwood.  We will open our second Harmoni Market in the Springs Plaza shopping center at the corner of Highway 434 and Wekiva Springs Road in Longwood.  We found out that many of our College Park guests live in the 32779 zip code, so we found a great location to serve you all better.  If all goes well, we’ll be open before the end of the year!

2.      Melbourne . We will open a Harmoni Market in Harbour Landing, a beautiful, new retail center across from the beach in Indian Harbour Beach .  Harbour Landing is the most attractive and impressive retail center in all of Melbourne and a perfect home for our first Melbourne venture.  This Harmoni will feature a really cool indoor / outdoor wine bar. We plan to open the doors in Jan/Feb 2009.

3.      Lake Nona .  To be closer to our friends on the east side of town, our fourth Harmoni Market will be located in East Park Village at the corner of Moss Park and Highway 417.  East Park Village is a gorgeous Tuscan-inspired, high-end lifestyle center.  We’ll be located on Piazza Giovanni, an authentic brick-covered piazza containing a gelato shop, coffee shop, and authentic Italian fountain.  The Lake Nona area is about to explode!  We are already partnering with the wonderful people at the Burnham Institute (more below) and can’t wait to open in 2009.

A New Website
We will also re-launch an exciting, new web site this week.  The new website makes it easier to find the info rmation you need, like bistro and wine menus and a new gourmet-to-go menu with weekly rotating specials.

Web Logs. (Blogs)  We’ve also added a section of blogs to provide a fun platform for all of us to chat about our passion for food and wine.  If you would like to be a moderator of a blog, please email me with your topic of interest. jgabrovic@HarmoniMarket.com

Shopping.  We’ll also add a shopping section for you to conveniently pick out gift baskets, wine and some of our fun specialty foods.
If you have any comments to the new web site, please email them to Jaime at JNiemann@HarmoniMarket.com

180 New Wines Coming + A New Wine Club!

New Wines.  We just completed a three-month process to select 180 absolutely delicious and value-oriented wines.  We will start rolling in the new wines this week.

New Wine Club and Wine Tastings.  So that you can start enjoying these new wines, we will also launch a new Wine Club in August.  Wine Club members will enjoy free wine tastings, wine education as well as cool wine discounts.  If you want to be added to the wine club list, please email Vino@HarmoniMarket.com

New Look.  Many of you asked me to move the wine retail section into the market and to expand our wine selection, so we are doing just that.  Look for the new retail section in the market in August.

WINE DEALS.  If you haven’t taken advantage of our Tasty Tuesday wine deals, you have been missing the BEST WINE DEAL IN ORLANDO.  You receive half-off selected wines, saving you up to $50  . . . it’s a great way to enjoy a mid-week dinner and save a helluva lot of money.

Market Dining and A New Deli Sandwich Program
You may have noticed that we have moved seats into the Market. It offers a more casual place to grab a sandwich or salad or even grab some olives, cheese, baguette and wine for a mini Euro-nosh with your favorite friend.  Look for a new Deli Sandwich offer to launch in August, too!

Slow Food Restaurant Week
We go out of our way to promote and support our local food artisans like Shannon Talty and Janice Brahm at Olde Hearth Bread Company (www.OldeHearthBread.com), Melanie, Jess and Melinda at Trio Gelato www.TrioGelato.com and David Kahan at Z Coffee (www.ZCoffee.com).  Just last month, we added a new local artisan, David Green of Winter Park Dairy to our list.  We sell his Bleu Sunshine, a delicious bleu that is kind of a blend between an aged gouda and bleu – absolutely delicious.

You may have seen the Orlando Sentinel article this past week on the Winter Park Dairy and his homestead cheese making facility right here in Orlando.  Click here: http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/local/orange/orl-wpcows2608jul26,0,987865.story?track=rss

PLEASE HELP US SUPPORT THESE LOCAL ARTISANS.  Without their passion and focus on quality and flavor, we would be left with only the manufactured, imitation products from the grocery store.  Foodies of the world UNITE!

Slow Food Restaurant Week.  Sometime this fall, we will host a Slow Food Restaurant Week.  Our local artisans will partner with a select group of restaurants to celebrate and promote the wonderful foods Central Florida has to offer.

If you have a restaurant that you think we should add to the list, a local vendor that should be included, or if you would like to help organize this fun event, please email me at Jgabrovic@HarmoniMarket.com

Burnham Institute and Team Burnham
The Burnham Institute for Medical Research is a non-profit organization that is working to find cures for some of the ugliest diseases affecting our society today.  They will open their amazing facility in Lake Nona in 2009.  The economic impact on Orlando from this new Medical City is projected to rival that of Disney . . . . think about that!

Two wonderful people and Harmoni faithful, Lynn Lipsey and Elizabeth Gianini, work at Burnham and they invited us to

join Team Burnham.  Scott Vasatka, Bogi Gabrovic , Jaime Niemann and John Gabrovic of Harmoni Market have all volunteered to join Team Burnham and run the marathon and half-marathon this January and to raise $10,000 to help find cures for nasty diseases.  (Pray for us! J) If anyone is interested in joining our efforts to either run or raise money for the Burnham Institute, please email me at Jgabrovic@HarmoniMarket.com

There is so much more happening at Harmoni Market, but I think it’s time to back away from the computer and go enjoy some great food and a nice glass of wine at Harmoni.  Don’t forget to bring in this email this week – it would be my pleasure to share a glass of wine with you!

Viva Bene!
