Fresh, authentic, hand-made food made with the passion and care of a local food artisan is an extremely wonderful and powerful thing. At Harmoni Market, we go out of our way to promote and support our local food artisans like Shannon Talty and Janice Brahm at Olde Hearth Bread Company, Melanie, Jess and Melinda at Trio Gelato and David Kahan at Z Coffee. And, we do our part each day by hand-making the mozzarella for our caprese appetizer and for all other bistro dishes. Why? Because is just tastes better!
Olde Hearth Bread. Shannon and Janice were the first two artisans we met during the creation of Harmoni Market. They are not only phenomenal bakers, but they have also become great friends! Olde Hearth Bread supplies us with all of our delicious breads and pastries and they make custom breads for Harmoni (like the ciabatta for our Panini and the delicious flatbreads for, well, our flatbreads).
Z-Coffee. We also found David Kahan, the founder of the artisan roaster Z-Coffee. We met at the Winter Park farmer’s market and I immediately realized that David’s passion for coffee would result in an excellent partnership. Each week, Z-Coffee roasts our Harmoni Blend and Decaf as well as our custom Espresso Blend. You may not know, but coffee quality is extremely tied to freshness, so we are pleased to have a custom roaster right here in Central Florida.
Wise Acre Farms. With our poor, sandy soil and wet, moist conditions, if you only knew how difficult it is to grow organic produce in Central Florida, just ask Kim Buchheit. She is the energetic founder of Wise Acre Farms in Sorrento. We purchase from Kim whatever she can successfully grow and our chef’s benefit from the freshest, organic produce available. Here is a link to a story on their efforts in Farm Aid magazine: Farm Aid Magazine - Wise Acre Farms.
Trio Gelato. We met Melanie, Jess and Melinda, the creators of Trio Gelato at their shop about a year ago. Little did we know how wonderful this partnership would become! Did you know that gelato has around half of the fat and calories of ice cream with twice the flavor! We love their peanut butter gelato and chocolate-covered peanut butter gelato pops!
Rest Haven Farm. Bob and Laura Braun grow “the best tomatoes money can buy” in Geneva, on the east side of Orlando. Their hydroponic tomatoes are available only certain times of the year, but they are well worth the wait. When available, we’ll retail them in the market and use them on our Caprese plates. Mmmmmm delicious!
Orlando Brewery. Many don’t know that we have an excellent craft brewery right here in Orlando! Our link to Orlando Brewery is through Dave Desmoroux, a beermeister and distributor of this delicious beverage of the gods. We always serve on-tap their Olde Pelican English Ale. We also have the Red Ale, Pale Ale and Winter Park Organic Beer in our market. You also have to try Orlando Brewery’s Barbeque sauces. They are made from the “wort” or brewed hops from brewing process. This gives the BBQ sauce an added dimension you won’t find in any other BBQ sauce. Buy it at Harmoni today!
