became a food snob a couple of years ago and I’m always looking for great wine bars and restaurants in Orlando. Great food and delicious wine brings me so much pleasure, that I seek friends and venues where I can share my passion for food, wine and the good life. John Gabrovic - “On My Mind” General musings and observations about our Central Florida lifestyle
I’ve been in the food and beverage business for almost 20 years. Most of my adult (I can’t say mature) career was spent in Europe where I was taught about the “art of living” by the wonderful peoples of the Mediterranean. I think we Americans crave this laid back, family-oriented lifestyle where great food and conversation are not the exception, but an integral part of everyday life. It’s just that our ambitions and I-4 traffic kinda get in the way…I’m here to highlight some of the interesting changes I see happening in life around Central Florida and hopefully to spur a bit of conversation about what’s “on my mind.”

We are business partners at Sustainable Synergy, a green business consulting firm, and leaders of Slow Food Orlando. We’ve been involved with farmer’s markets, the local green movement and spent countless hours supporting our local farmers and food artisans. Slow Food Orlando is a nascent, but growing group and we’ll use this forum to share information on local harvests, new local products and everything else that promotes the Slow Food lifestyle.
